Adding Polls to Site

I’m working on a polling system for the site to get listener feedback on the station. Polls will be located under the Live 365 Player on the right.

I’ll be using your feedback to make improvements to the radio stream and the site. Right now, there is a generic poll to test functionality. Go ahead and vote if you’d like, so I have some data to work out the bugs with!

Site customization is almost done. I’ve added some links on the right hand side under the title “Support RPR”, which you may not see if you have ad blocking software activated for this site.

The first is a link to buying a VIP Membership to Live 365, our hosting service for the station. A VIP Membership will not only let you listen to RPR commercial-free, but also allows access even if the station is at the listener limit. Not only does it work for RPR, but also for every one of the thousands of stations on the Live 365 network!

The second link is for PayPal donations. If you don’t care for PayPal, you can always purchase a Live 365 Gift Certificate for whatever amount you wish, which will go directly towards the bill for the broadcast service. Under “recipient’s email” use the hotmail address “ratpatrolradio.”

The third link is to the Rat Patrol Radio Post Exchange, aka our Cafepress store. Any item purchased gives RPR $2.00. I have personally ordered the coffee mug, tshirt, notebook, and large poster, and have been extremely pleased with them all.

The only things left to do are to get the RPR Pinup Girl logo on the masthead of the site, and decide whether to actually have an image gallery or not. Speaking of our “mascot”, she is on all the Cafepress items. Here is a close-up of the logo:

OMG, Another Theme!

Yes, another theme. The last one was so ugly I couldn’t bring myself to log in to post! Hopefully, I can hammer this one into something I like. It’s a good foundation, though a bit dark at the moment. The theme name is “Daily Minefield”- I’d love that name for a blog!

Please bear with me as I customize this. In the meantime, I’ll try to post WWII-related stuff more often!

RPR Needs A New Theme!

This is a call-out to all listeners, requesting ideas for a new WordPress theme for the Rat Patrol Radio blog. I’d prefer something that allows widgets, so that I can put the Player Widget here on the site which will show the currently playing track and allow VIPs to start listening just by clicking the widget!

I know that somebody out there has seen a nice patriotic/retro free theme, or one that could easily have a new header made that would fit the bill. Let’s hear from you!

Eight Years Later: a New Begining

It’s been several years since I launched the last version of this site, and since the forums weren’t being used by anyone but spammers, I’ve decided to join the 21st Century and start anew with a blog format. Things will be tweaked as I have time, and suggestions are welcome! This includes suggestions for a different theme. This is a placeholder theme for right now.

Speaking of refreshing things, I’ve added some tracks, removed some others, and made a new shuffle playlist. Hopefully I’ll have time later to lovingly hand-craft a large playlist for the full “trip through history” experience that you listners love so much!
