“World’s Oldest Nun” Dies at 100: Helped Hide Jews During Holocaust


The Archdiocese of Krakow (Poland) has announced that Sister Cecylia Maria Roszak has passed away at the age of 110. She, along with the other sisters of a convent in Vilnius (now in Lithuania) hid Jewish resistance members from the Nazis for two years during the Holocaust, on pain of death. The sisters of the convent were named “Righteous Among the Nations” in 1984 for their bravery.
